Q: When am I eligible for Health Insurance?

A: Full Time team members are eligible for coverage effective the 1st of the month after 60 Days of Employment. Example: an employee whose first day was 06/10 would be eligible for insurance on 09/01.

Q: How do I enroll?

A: A few weeks before your eligibility date, Team Development will reach out to you with individual instructions. If you have questions throughout the process, you can refer to this document Enrolling in Health Insurance or reach out to Team Development for assistance.

Q: Am I required to enroll in Health Insurance

A: No - enrolling in coverage is completely optional. However, at the time of your eligibility you are required to login to our Insurance Portal and waive your benefits.

Q: I recently enrolled in Health Insurance but have not received my insurance cards

A: We strongly encourage all Team Members to make their elections in our Insurance Portal prior to the 20th of the month before you benefits are active - this is the best way to make sure you receive you insurance cards in a timely manner. If you did make your elections prior to the 20th, you should receive your card no later than the 10th of the month when your coverage is active. If you did not make your elections prior to the 20th, it may be an additional month before your cards arrive.

You can print/download temporary cards at anytime through the MyCigna app, at my.cigna.com or through the https://signin.guardianlife.com/signin website

If you need to order a new card, or you believe your original card may have gotten lost in the mail, you will need to contact Cigna or Guardian directly:

Q: I'm at the doctor and they say they can't find my coverage. What should I do?

A: You should contact the insurance carrier directly. Have your Social Security Number and Birth Date handy.

    • *For Vision Coverage : ask your provider to check under "VSP". Sometimes our coverage does not show up under Guardian directly.

If, after speaking to the carrier, they are still unable to locate your coverage, contact Team Development. This is extremely rare.

Q: I want to add/remove someone from my Health Insurance Plan, or I'd like to change which plans I'm enrolled in. How do I do that?

A: There are two times when Team Members can make changes to Health Insurance Coverage:

  1. During Open Enrollment. This period occurs each May for coverage effective June 1. You can add/remove dependents or change plans for any reason during this time. Information will be sent out to Team Members well in advance of this option. You do not need to contact Team Development to be included.
  2. If you've experienced a "Qualifying Event". Typical Qualifying Events are things like marriage, divorce, birth of a child or loss of other Health Coverage. If these apply, reach out to Team Development ASAP so that we can assist you. Any changes for these reasons must be made within 30 days of the event.
