How to use benefit plan labels for plan combinations

Plan labels are an easy way to classify benefit plans within AllPay. For companies that use AllianceHCM to manage their benefits, these plan labels add an additional way to group benefit plans into combinations.

💡Good to know: Changing the plan labels as a part of your plan combinations has widespread impacts. Plan labels are for those who have current benefit setups in AllPay and need to use plan combinations. Plan combinations are most commonly used if you offer multiple medical, dental, or vision plans or voluntary life plans. A plan combination includes rules that dictate which plans can be elected in combination with each other.

How to use benefit plan labels for plan combinations
- Log into AllPay. From the dashboard, click on Configuration in the left menu.
- Hover to open the Benefits menu and select Benefit Plans.
- Select a plan in the Company Benefits table, and then look in the Plan Details section and find the Plan Labels field.
AllianceHCM tip: Multiple plans can have the same labels, which makes it efficient to group plans together. - Enter a label into the Plan Labels field. NOTE: The plan label must not include any spaces. When you're done, click on the Save button in the upper right. That plan label will now show in the Plan Labels column of the Company Benefits table.
AllianceHCM tip: If you don't see the column for Plan Labels, click on the Edit Table Columns button at the top right of the table and make sure the option for that column is selected. - To use the plan labels in plan combinations, navigate to the Plan Combinations page from the Benefits module. When you create a combination, you can use the Plan dropdown to select one of your labels, which will then include all plans you designated with that label. The plan labels will show on the list in the format Label: YourLabel.
From the dashboard, click on Configuration
Select Benefit Plans from the Benefits menu
In the Company Benefits table, click to select a plan, then identify the Plan Labels field
Add a label to the plan and Save. You can see plans and which labels they have in the column Plan Labels
On the Plan Combinations page, you can use the Plan dropdown to see your labels when you're creating a new combination
The plan labels will show on the list in the format "Label: [YourLabel]"
