Locating a Course Reference Number (CRN)

A course reference number (CRN) is a 4- or 5-digit unique identifier assigned to every course. This number is used to identify courses and register for a specific course. Part-time faculty must also include this number when submitting requests for Safe & Sick and Emergency Instance time off in MyDay. The instructions below will help you locate and identify a course CRN in different university systems.

Locating the CRN in the Course Catalog

A CRN may be easily located from either the main catalog page or on a course's individual page. See instructions for both locations below.

From the Main Course Catalog

  1. Visit the course catalog at https://courses.newschool.edu/
  2. Use applicable filters to find a course or click on the course title to view more information.
