Settings - Report Settings Options
The report options shown above allow you to set general look-and-feel details for your clients. For the most part, these will be the same for each client. The default options for clients can be set in Settings > Report Settings. As you make changes, keep an eye on the preview window on the right-hand side, which will give an idea of how the report will look.
Report Data Options
These options allow you to define the layout and look of specific reports in the program.
See examples of the Net Worth reports.
Net Worth: There are a number of net worth styles available in Moneytree Plan. This drop-down will affect the current year net worth reports (A5 in Aspire / A3 in Prosper). These options include:
Bank
Consolidated
Ownership
Express
Sort Asset Details by: This option determines how the asset details reports (A6 in Aspire / A4 in Prosper) list each individual asset. The options include:
Description
Owner
Liquidity
Group
Class
Type
When choosing options other than description, assets will be first sorted by the selected option, then by description. For example, if sorting assets by owner assets with the same owner will be sorted by their description.
Report Formatting
Use these options to change the justification of various parts of the report. As you make changes in these drop-downs the sample preview to the right will update to give you an idea of how that will affect the reports.
Report Options
These checkboxes control various other default preferences on the reports. Changes made here will not update the preview on the right-hand side.
Include Audit Trail Notes on Reports: With this box checked reports will include page references in the top-right, and at the ends of various tables. These are designed to help you track down and understand values. Read more about audit trails.
Show Scenario Name on Reports: If this box is checked the scenario name will appear below the page title, as seen on the preview to the right.
Include Page Number on Reports: The page number will be shown on the bottom-right of report pages when checked.
Include FINRA footnote: When checked, a general FINRA disclaimer appears at the footer of every report page.
Show Present Value in Retirement Capital Graph: This option allows you to show clients the purchasing power of their capital on the retirement capital graph. When checked a blue line appears on the retirement capital graph that shows the time adjusted value of capital.
Future capital is discounted back using the discount rate for NPV calculations. The default discount rate is set in the Default Rates section of settings. That rate can also be customized at the scenario level in Assumptions > Default Rates among the Other Rates options.
Read more about Other Rates in Settings.
Other Options
With these other options you can change the font, heading color, and header text on report pages.
Report Font: If desired, use this drop-down to set a font to be used on the reports. The Moneytree Default is Segoe UI. As you change the font the preview below the drop-down will update.
Heading Color: Select a heading color. This will change the color of report page titles as well as other headings in the reports. The page preview below will update as you make adjustments to give you an idea of how it will impact the reports. You can use the pop-up window or enter a hexadecimal color code to update the heading color.
Header: A custom header can be entered here if needed. This is often used to enter general disclaimers that may be required by your firm or broker/dealer.
Company Documents
Use these options to upload company documents to include in your reports. Documents must be in RTF (Rich Text Format), which can be created in a standard work processer, such as Microsoft Word.
If you have a document that you need to upload, you can follow this process:
Create or open the document in Microsoft Word (or other similar product)
NOTE: If opening a file in PDF, it may need to be convertedGo to File and select Save As
Choose a location to save the file
Enter a filename and use the drop-down below to choose the option Rich Text Format (RTF) (the drop-down will likely say Word Document (*.docx) by default)
Save the file
From there you will be able to upload the file into Moneytree Plan.
Action Plan: If you have a common general action plan you like to provide your clients you can upload that here.
Disclaimer: If your firm or broker/dealer require to include a disclaimer on reports you can upload that here.
