How to Set Up a Student iPad
While most students should be able to complete this process themselves or with the help of a teacher, below are the steps that should be followed if you are setting up an iPad for a student
Before you begin
You will need the students 800# and password

Select English, then United States on the first two screens
On the Quick Start Screen, select Set Up Manually.
If you are at School, select Device Setup on the Choose a WiFi network screen If you are at home, select your home network.
Tap Next on the Remote Management Screen
Enter your 800# and password when prompted
K-4 Students use their 4-digit birthdate for the password.
5-6 Students use their 5-digit password.
After entering the 800# and password, you may see the Configuring iPad screen for several minutes.
If it does not proceed past this page, or if you notice that the iPad is no longer connected to Wi-Fi take the following Steps:
Press and hold the home button for a second and then release. You should get this menu:
Tap More Wi-Fi Settings and then re-connect to the Device Setup network
When prompted for your Apple ID, use your 800# followed by@gomounts.org for the Apple ID, tap Continue
Enter your password (Same password as above)
Tap Yes to stay signed in
If you have trouble signing in with the AppleID, you can skip this step by following these steps:
Tap on "Forgot password or don't have an Apple ID?"
Tap on Set up Later in Settings
Tap on Don't Use
Important: If you skip the Apple ID set up, you will need to sign in to the Apple ID after the iPad is setup. Go into Settings and tap on Sign in to Your iPad.
Tap on Enable Location Services
After the ClassLink app has finished installing, open the Settings App
Scroll down in settings until you see Passwords and then tap on AutoFill Passwords
Tap on both Keychain and ClassLink
ClassLink will only show up after the app has completed installing
Tap on ClassLink and sign in with 800# and password
You can sign in to Schoology or other commonly used apps if needed
