Printing Out Class Rosters in PowerSchool SIS
This guide will walk you through how to print out class rosters for different class sections in your school. This process is customizable, but the following is a good baseline to get started.
- From the start page select Data and Reporting > Reports > System Reports.
- Scroll down to the Student/Staff Listings section and click on Class Rosters (PDF)
- Select all the teachers that have classes you want to print rosters for. If in doubt, select all of them.
- Select the blocks that have classes that you want to print rosters for. If you're trying to print elementary homeroom blocks, select both AM blocks. If you're trying to print class rosters for individual blocks that are on a junior high or high school schedule, select the blocks that correspond to those class sections (i.e. If I'm trying to print the day 1 block 1 class rosters for Junior High, I would select JH1 on Day 1).
- The heading can be customized with various fields, but as an example, go to the "Heading Text" field, and paste in the following information:
Teacher: ~(teachername) Homeroom: ~(Course_Number).~(Section_Number)
Grade: ~(Grade_Level) / ~(No_of_students) students
Schedule:~(*class_expression) - The roster columns can be customized with various fields, but as an example, go to the "Roster Columns" field, and paste in the following information:

Student_Number \ Student ID
Last_Name \ Last Name
First_Name \ First Name
S_AB_STU_X.AKAGivenName \ Preferred First Name
DOB - Example 2:
(if you would like to set the column widths and alignment you could add additional information such as:)
LastFirst \ Student Name \ 2.75 \ L
Home_Room \ HMRM \ 0.75 \ C
Student_Number \ School ID Number \ 1 \ C
State_StudentNumber \ ASN \ 1 \ C - Click Submit at the bottom of the page.
- When the report queue page opens, wait anywhere from 5-30 seconds (or more depending how many teachers were selected), then click the Refresh button on the top right of the page. The topmost report status should now say View. Click that to view your report.
Additional Notes:
This report is customizable. The information you pasted into Heading Text and Roster Columns can be customized to include whatever student information you like, as long as PowerSchool supports it. To add a piece of information, hit the Fields link next to each of those text boxes, and select something from the list. The instructions on the page will also explain how to access other fields and customize how the report looks. Whatever you enter on this page will stay in place when you go to run the report again, apart from teacher and period selection, which you have to do each time you run the report.
