SMS Registration in Parent Portal

Overview

This guide outlines the steps to register your mobile phone through the Parent Portal so you can receive an SMS notification whenever your child gets a Character and Culture record.

Procedures

  1. Log in to Parent Portal.
  2. Once logged in, on the main menu at the top of the page, click on Family Details and select SMS Registration from the drop-down menu.

  3. On the SMS Registration page, enter your mobile phone number in the text box and click Add Mobile.

  4. A 4-digit code will be sent to your mobile phone via SMS. Enter this code in the Activation Code box. It may take a few seconds to a minute to receive the code.
  5. If you do not receive the activation code promptly, you can click Resend Text. If you still haven't received it, double-check that you entered the correct number. You will have the option to correct it if it's wrong.
  6. Click Activate Mobile.

  7. A note will appear on the page stating, your mobile has been authorised once the activation code is accepted.

  8. You are now ready to receive SMS notifications once a Character and Culture record is added for your child.
  9. If you need to change your mobile number in the future, you can do so by returning to the SMS Registration page and clicking Change Mobile.
ⓘ Receiving SMS: You may see some unusual characters in the SMS. This happens when there are special characters in the description field (such as !, ', etc.) that gets converted to a coded character set.

You must have Author or Collection Owner permission to create Guru Cards. Contact your team's Guru admins to use this template.
