Manage Freight by PostCode
Import Freight By Postcode
Use this to import freight by postcode with the following columns: PostCodeFrom, PostCodeTo, Freight, FIS.
- Log in to the website as an admin user. (Note: The login information can be obtained from one of our administrators)
- Click Admin. Under Miscellaneous. Click Manage Freight by Postcode
- You can either Import or Export.
See below example on on how this works:
Example of an imported file:
- The ‘FIS’ amount is the delivery free threshold. I.e if the order total is this amount or greater, then the freight is free.
We can see on the first row that we have 2500 - 3500 post codes, Freight is 5 and FIS is 20. This means that within the 2500-3500 range orders with the total of 20 will be Free and less than those one they will have a shipping fee of 5.
Example 1:
Product Total: 0.25
Postcode: 2501
Notice that it added the shipping fee 5 because the product Total is only 0.25
But if the product is more than the total of 20, freight will be free.
Example 2:
Product Total: $30.45
Postcode: 2501
Notice that is still showing the total price 30.45.
- If post code is not found within the ranges in the table, then the standard default freight for the site is charged.
Example:
Postcode: 4000
Product total: 0.25
Standard default freight: 6.50
- If the Freight is 0, then the freight is free.
For second row, we can see that if the post codes are within the range of 2000- 2000 and freight and FIS is set to 0.
Example:
Product total : 1.45
Postcode: 2000
- If the Freight is -1 then the range is a non-delivery zone and a message will appear to the user saying that ‘Sorry, but unfortunately we don’t deliver to that location.’
For our last row we set post codes ranging 1979-1998 a non delivery zone, therefore when we enter ranges from one of these codes, we will see the dialog box below:
