Everything Utilities
Please refer to your lease agreement for the terms of utilities and the name of utility companies. Here are some additional information to help with the utilities.
In Washington state, residents can switch power, including electricity and gas, and garbage (except Waste Management in Kirkland/Renton, and City of Seattle Public Utility) to the residents' name. In this case, per the lease agreement, please call the utility companies to switch the accounts to your name before the lease start date. The service start date should be the first day of your lease.
Here is a list of most common electricity and gas companies.
- PSE (Puget Sound Energy)
- SCL (Seattle City Light)
- PUD (Snohomish County Public Utility District)
However, water and sewer, and some garbage (Waste Management in Kirkland/Renton, and City of Seattle Public Utility) accounts are mostly always under the owner's name. In this case, you will either receive the utility bill directly from the utility companies or receive the bill from our teammates at GPS Renting. Please pay directly the bill directly to the utility company.
We will prorate the move in and move out utilities for those that are not under your name. If you have receive a bill that has a service date that is beyond your lease agreement dates, please email us the bill so that we can help with it.
If you don't know your utility company info, please email utility@gpsrenting.com.
