Automation - Manual Business Rules
Through the operation of Compass we've managed to expose ourselves to lots of different trading environments, participants, clients and risk management styles.
We've run hundreds of thousands of hours in 24/5 production trading systems across multiple banks and brokers. But we've run and learned from millions of hours in simulations.
In response to the surface area of learning we are exposed to, we've had a chance to accelerate our learnings and response to Key Design Features - UX/UI Product Tenets within trading systems.
During this we have seen a bit of an "Anti-pattern" emerge where trading logic is reduced to a large list of custom business rules (these can be in their hundreds)

who reviews them?
are they still appropriate?
are they documented?
who if any one understands the whole picture?
how long does it take to evaluate the impact of changing them?
who authored them? was it a team in another region? have they left the company now?
