How To Manually Add a Contractor to the Contractor LMS Training Portal (Internal Use Only)

This document provides step by step instructions to add a contractor to the Contractor Learning Management System (LMS) Training Portal.

Audience: Contractor Relations (Internal Use Only)


section 1. Log into the lms using the trainer/admin profile

  1. Go to the login page of the Contractor LMS Training Portal.
    https://210hbwcontractortrainingportal.talentlms.com/index
  2. Log in with the following credentials:
    1. Username: Wilma
    2. Password: education
  3. Once logged in, you will see the screen below. Use the pull-down menu to switch to the Administrator view.

section 2. Manually add the contractor

  1. Go to Users > Click Add user.

  2. Fill out the User Form and be sure to select the correct Trade-Specific user type for the contractor.image.png

section 3. Manually remove the default training curricula

  1. Go to the Groups tab.
  2. We want to remove the contractor from the Default Training Curricula.
  3. First, go to Synchronize User with Courses. You will see 21/21 -. Click the minus sign (next to 21/21) to remove all group courses from the user.
  4. The output should now say 0/21.
  5. Next, under the Options section for the Default Training Curricula, click the large minus sign.
  6. The output should now display a plus sign.
  7. The default curricula is now removed. image.png

section 4. add the trade-specific training curricula

light bulb icon v1.png Important: Be sure to verify trade courses based off of the Enrollment Kit.

  1. From the Group list, locate the desired trade-specific curricula > Under the Options section, click the Plus sign for that curricula.
  2. For this example, we're selecting the Curricula Appliance.image.png

  3. Under the Synchronize User with Courses, you will see a 9/9 for this example. That means the Appliance curricula has 9 out of 9 courses and these have been added to the user's learning plan.
  4. You will also notice that Group Member is visible next to Curricula Appliance. This again indicates that the user is part of this particular curricula.image.png

section 4. verifying the correct trade-specific curricula was added for the contractor

  1. If you go back to the Info tab for the user, you can scroll down and see the More button.
  2. You can click the More button and the option to Log into account displays (this will let you log into the user's learning plan).image.png

  3. Verification
    1. You can now see the User's learning plan.
    2. You can visually verify that the correct Trade-Specific curricula was added.
    3. In this example, the Appliance Curricula, consisting of the 8 Required Courses and the 1 Appliance course.image.png
