Payment devices and software are two of the fastest evolving technologies in the world. They follow a natural product life cycle determined by market actions, consumer demand and regulatory compliance requirements. Consequently, VerifoneⓇ has announced the retirement of their MX915 and MX925 payment devices.

WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU:

To determine whether your device is a v3 or a v4, locate the part number listed on the back of the device. Devices with a part number beginning with M132 are v3 devices. Devices with a part number beginning with M177 are v4. Based on the version of your device, we want to let you know the following information:

MX v3

As of April 2023, v3 device parts and repair services will not be available. If there is a need to replace or service your current v3 device, you will need to upgrade to an Engage device. We will be reaching out to you soon with next steps.

The storage capacity of v3 devices cannot accommodate updates to our Genius 2.0 software beyond version 6.4.4.2. This means bug fixes as well as new features and functionality are not available on v3 devices (i.e. Transaction Signature, Store & Forward, Genius Your Way Multiple Agreements and Customer Input).

MX v4

As of April 30, 2024 these devices will reach their PCI-PTS expiration and will no longer be eligible for Verifone support. Although expired PCI-PTS devices may remain in the field for payment processing for a grace period of 5 years beyond expiration. We will be reaching out to you soon with next steps.

In the meantime MX v4 devices have sufficient storage capacity to support the full features and functionality of Genius 2.0.

Sincerely,
