What Does This Editor Do?

PowerPaste

Automatically cleans up content from Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and HTML sources to ensure clean, compliant content that matches the look and feel of the site.

The PowerPaste plugin activates automatically when users paste content into the editor. For basic usage, users are not required to take any action. Simply copy and paste content normally using keyboard shortcuts or the browser’s “Paste” menu item.

To paste clipboard content as plain text, users can click the “Remove formatting” button or , then paste the content normally. PowerPaste will convert the HTML on the clipboard into plain text.

PowerPaste will import images from pasted Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel content. Images larger than approximately 8.5MB may fail to import based on technical limitations of web browsers.

Color & Background Color

This function adds the forecolor/backcolor button controls that enable you to pick colors from a color picker and apply these to text.

Format Painter

The Format Painter option allows a user to copy and paste formatting from one location to another, such as font style and size. The format painter is capable of working with a wide variety of formats such as inline and block formats and styles such as table styles.

Tables

Creation of Custom Tables and also Copy and Paste from Excel/ Google Sheets. Additional table options include. It also adds a new menubar item table with various options in its dropdown including insert table and options to modify cells, rows and columns, and a toolbar button with the same functionality.

Page Break

This option adds page break support and enables a user to insert page breaks in the editable area. This is useful when you would like to add a special separator to break content into pages.

Insert Link

The insert link options allows a user to link external resources such as website URLs, to selected text in their document. Additionally, this option will allow you to choose if you would like the link to open in the users Current Window (navigate to a new page) or open in a New Window (will launch the link in a new browser window).

What Does This Editor Not Do?

  • If you copy and paste a list from a word document, the list format structure will update to reflect the numbering hierarchy determined by your System Admin.
  • Allow for different font types. All font is updated to Benton Sans
  • Due to limitations in Microsoft Excel online (part of Office Live) PowerPaste does not support pasting from Microsoft Excel online. If you paste content using Microsoft Excel in Office Live you will get a plain text representation of the content.
