Welcome

Welcome to the family of innovators with a heritage steeped in tradition. We started life as a humble cabinetmaker's factory before the team saw an opportunity in the booming 1950s caravan market. Our cabinetmaking abilities were the perfect foundation for creating quality caravan interiors, and 1954 saw the first TrailLite caravan roll off the production line. The design was an instant hit. The team's commitment to quality and service was soon recognised, and TrailLite's name became synonymous with luxury caravans made in New Zealand. What followed was queues of customers waiting for their slice of our Kiwi pie. Our values haven't changed since 1954, especially our attention to detail and quality. We're pretty sure it's why we've survived since the 1950s and thrived to become New Zealand's leading and oldest motorhome manufacturer today. Being part of TrailLite means being part of a family-owned and operated company with over 60 years of treating their crew and customers like family. We are always looking for great people keen to work for a world-class luxury brand and product. Anyone who commits to customer service wants to take pride in the work they do, and enjoys working hard as a team and backing one another should get in touch with us today! For more information on being part of the TrailLite Team, have a look around our website https://www.traillite.co.nz/about-us/workfor-us/

In summary...

The Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA) provides you and your workmates with several rights, including the right to stop working if you believe it is unhealthy or unsafe.

You are entitled to:

  • work in environments where the risks to your health and safety are properly controlled
  • access adequate facilities, such as toilets, washing facilities and first aid
  • have sufficient training, information and support on how to do your job safely
  • contribute to health and safety decisions at your workplace
  • have personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • ask to have a Health and Safety Representative (HSR) or a Health and Safety Committee (HSC).
  • You have a right to stop work if you believe it is unhealthy or unsafe.
  • You must
    • take reasonable care of your own health and safety and ensure that your actions don’t cause harm to yourself or others
    • comply with any reasonable instructions, policies or procedures on how to work in a safe, and healthy way.
You should let someone at your workplace [such as a supervisor, or a Health andSafety Representative] know if you have a health and safety concern, or want to suggest an improvement, even though this is not a legal requirement.

If it's not safe – speak up!

Speakup – your voice can make a difference. You play an important part in our workplace health and safety.

Your workplace must ensure that you have a say on any health and safety matters that could affect you or your workmates, and you must consider your suggestions on how to improve health and safety at work.

Your PCBU? workplace? employer must:

  • Ask for input on matters which relate to your health and safety
  • Have ways for you to participate in improving work health and safety on a day-to-day basis
  • The ways for you and other workers to contribute should be clear and well-known to everyone
  • You don’t have a legal obligation to respond when asked for your views. However, when you take part you are helping to make sure that the right issues are considered, and that the results are practical for you and your workmates.
  • If you have a suggestion or concern but aren’t comfortable raising it yourself, you can:
    • Talk to your HSR if your workplace has one.
    • Ask a workmate to raise an issue for you.

Let's take a quick break and see how speaking up can help you and your workmates.

Work Instructions

You will find iPads around the workplace. You use the iPad to access Guru, our home of all shared knowledge at Traillite.

If you believe we are missing a vital ‘work instruction’ let your Supervisor know and we can get one underway.

There is a lot to learn at TrailLite, and we like to invest in our people.

Your training plan and introduction to your ‘Buddy’ are covered in our GeneralInduction documents.
