Bar Code Charge Capture

Welcome to the GoRev Charging Tutorial. In this tutorial, we will focus on the process of navigating through the Charging module in GoRev.

1: Navigating to the Charging Module

As a GoRev user, the Charging module will allow you to add Charges to a patient's account by scanning Bar Codes, entering Quick Charges, and/or by utilizing Charge Templates. To begin, click on the “Charging” button present in the GoRev Homepage toolbar.

2: Searching For A Patient Account

Once the Charging module becomes visible, please search for the patient account that you require by, first, clicking on the “Patient Search” button in the Charging toolbar.

Entering the Patient's Name

After the Patient Search window appears, please enter the patient's name into the Patient Name field.

Selecting the Required Patient Visit

At this point, the patient's list of visits should be present in the Patient Search window. To continue, please select the Visit that you require from the list.

Note: If you have difficulty locating the Patient Visit that you require, please utilize the Search box in this window to aid you in your search.

Loading the Patient Visit into the Charging Module

Now, in order to successfully load the patient account into the Charging module, please click on the “Load Selected Patient Visit” button in this window.

At this point, the selected patient visit will be present in the Charging window.

Its important to note that you may select a different patient account from your search results by utilizing the "Patients" section of this window.

3: Patient Overview Charging Module Access

Note: The Patient Search process can be bypassed by accessing the Charging module directly from the Patient Overview window of the required Patient Visit.

Additionally, please note that you must be in the specific Patient Visit in the required patients Patient Overview window, as the Charging module will open with the current Patient Visit information loaded.

4: Adding Charges by Entering Quick Charges

Once the required patient information has been loaded into the Charging module, you will have the ability to add Charges to the patient's account by entering Quick Charges, by utilizing Charge Templates, and/or by scanning Bar Codes. First, in order to add a Quick Charge to the patient's account, please search for and select the required Charge using the “Quick Charge” field in this window.

Now, the selected Charge should be present in the Charges list in this window.

5: Adding Charges by Utilizing Charge Templates

Second, the Charging module will allow you to add Charges to the patient's account by utilizing Charge Templates. To begin, please select the Charge Template that you require from the “Templates” drop down menu in the Template Charges area of this window.

At this point, the selected Charge Template should be present in the Template Charges area.

Now, in order to add a Charge from the template to the patient's account, please select the Charge that you require from the list and click on the “Add” button in this area or double-click on the Charge using your mouse.

Note: Please repeat this process for each Charge in the Charge Template that you would like to add to the patient's account.

6: Adding Charges by Bar Code Scanning

Lastly, the Charging module will allow you to quickly add Charges to a patient's account at the Time of Service by utilizing it's Bar Code Scanning feature. In order to utilize this feature, you must have access to a Charge Capture Tool similar to the one pictured below.

Note: While many Bar Code Scanner brands are usable with the GoRev Bar Code Scanning function, there are particular brands that are immediately compatible with GoRev's Charging module, such as Inatek brand Bar Code Scanners. Additionally, it is important to note that Dymo LabelWriter is the Bar Code label printing software program that is compatible with GoRev.

GoRev Bar Code Scanning Readiness

The GoRev Bar Code Scanning feature is ready to be utilized if it says Scanning Enabled in the bottom left corner of the Charging window.

However, if you have not clicked on the Charging window, it will state that the Scanning is Disabled. To remedy this, please click anywhere in the Charging window.

GoRev Bar Code Scanning Process

Now, in order to utilize the Bar Code Scanning process, please use your Bar Code Scanner to scan the required Bar Code on your printed Charge Template.

Once the Bar Code is successfully scanned, the corresponding Charge will be present in the Charges list of the Charging window.

7: Editing the Quantity of Added Charges

Next, in the event that you need to change the Quantity of a Charge that is added to the patient's account, first, begin by clicking on the Quantity field for the required Charge in the list.

At this point, the Edit Quantity window for the selected Charge should be visible. To continue, please use the “New Quantity” field to enter the required Quantity for this Charge.

Once you are finished, please click on the “Save Edit” button in this window to finalize the Quantity change.

8: Reversing Added Patient Charges

Now, if you need to remove a Charge that has been added to the patient's account, please utilize the “Reverse” button for the required Charge in the list to complete this process.

9: Other Features

In addition to the above mentioned features, the GoRev Charging module has several extra tools located within the toolbar at the top of this window.

Patient Overview Tool

In the Charging module, the “Patient Overview” button will allow you to navigate to the Patient Overview window for the selected Patient.

Edit Diagnosis Tool

Additionally, the Charging module will allow you to navigate to the Add/Edit Diagnosis window for the selected Patient by utilizing the “Edit Diagnosis” button in the window toolbar.

Upload Patient File Tool

Next, the “Upload Patient File” button in the Charging toolbar will allow you to upload a file to the system for this patient.

View Patient File Tool

Lastly, the “View Patient Files” button in the Charging module will allow you to view all current documents uploaded to the selected patient's account.
