BYOD Testing - Students/Teachers
Assessment Lock (Vretta) provides a secure, controlled environment for online testing. Students may complete assessments in Vretta as long as the Assessment Lock software is installed on their device.
Use the installation instructions that match your computer type and account setup. All download links are available on the Alberta Education testing website here: https://abed.vretta.com/#/en/login-router-st

For Chromebooks - Method 1 - ECSRD Login
- Sign in to the Chromebook with your ECSRD student account. The extension is pushed out to all students signing in with their ECSRD accounts so nothing further is required.
For Chromebooks - Method 2 - Personal Account Login
- With your personal account - click this link https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/assessment-lock-vretta/objafjdlhkpglojmhplfeijpojcepoahand "Add to Chrome"
- Click the puzzle icon and confirm that Vretta LockDown Browser has been added
For Windows computers
- Follow this link to download the installer: https://vea-authoring.vretta.com/user_uploads/2328649/authoring/LockDownBrowserOEMSetup/1726605250445/LockDownBrowserOEMSetup.exe
The will file pop up in your browser or can be found in your Downloads folder
- Double click the file and select "Yes" on the user account control prompt to allow this program to make changes to your device
- Setup language is English (United States)
- Let the program run and click "Finish" when it's done
For Macs

The file will pop up in your browser or can be found in your Downloads folder
- Click "Allow"
- Continue through the prompts and select either "Install for all users" or "Install for me only" as long as you will be using this account
- Select all defaults and continue through the prompts, you can move the installer to trash after complete
