Surface Pro 7 Initial Setup - Teachers Guide

The following guide outlines the process for setting up a Surface Pro and should be done in the outlined order.

Device Issuance Form

  1. Instruct the teacher to go to ecsrd.me/EmpDeviceAck and fill out the form, signing their name. If they don't want to sign it for any reason, talk to Ryan.

Windows Hello Setup

  1. Click on the Windows Start button and type "Settings". Then click on the Settings App.
  2. Click on Accounts. Then click Sign-in Options from the left-side menu.

  3. Click the Set up button and follow the instructions of Windows Hello Face Setup, it will ask to type your Account Password then afterwards it will ask to setup a 4 Digit Pin

Note: If Windows Hello says not available or a similar error message is preventing you from continuing, just reboot the Surface and go back to Step 1

One Drive Setup

  1. Click on the following link for instructions: Setting up OneDrive

Microsoft Teams

  1. Click on the Windows Start button and type "Teams". Then click on the Microsoft Teams app to open it.
  2. Enter your ECSRD username (email address) and password.image.png
    Note: Just make sure during the process when you see the screen that says, "This device will be manage by organization", make sure that is checked

For Microsoft Edge Users

  1. Click on the Windows Start button and type "Edge". Then click on the Microsoft Edge browser.
  2. Click on the ellipsis menu (3 dots at the top-right) and select Settings > Sign in to Sync Data.

  3. Enter your ECSRD username (email address) and click Continue.

  4. Enter your ECSRD password.

For Google Chrome Users

  1. Click on the Windows Start button and type "Chrome". Then click on the Google Chrome browser.
  2. Click the option Already a Chrome user? Sign in.

  3. Enter your ECSRD username (email address) and password.

Microsoft Outlook App

  1. Click on the Windows Start button and type "Outlook". Then click on the Outlook App.
  2. Enter your ECSRD username (email address) and password.

You must have Author or Collection Owner permission to create Guru Cards. Contact your team's Guru admins to use this template.
