Weld Gauges
Weld gauges are used for three reasons:
Calibrate tools to machine the weld joint on individual components
Verify the the machined edge profile on individual components is properly prepared
Verify the assembled weld joint is properly prepared
There are four gauges that are use to accomplish the above tasks.
Gauge 360-0086 is used to set the chamfer depth on hand routers. The combined gauge set drawings can be found here. 360-0086_87_88.pdf.
Gauge 360-0087 is used to verify the Deep Vee component edge preparation and assembled joint profile. The combined gauge set drawings can be found here. 360-0086_87_88.pdf.
Gauge 360-0088 is used to verify the standard assembled chamfered joint profile. The combined gauge set drawings can be found here. 360-0086_87_88.pdf.
Gauge 975-0143 is used to verify all weld joint edge preparation including dados and full penetration weld edge treatment. It is not used to set the tooling depth on hand routers. The drawing can be found here. 975-0143R1.pdf.
Note: These drawings are currently in an unreleased status due to a constant state of development.
