Fingerprint Reader Setup (Digital Persona 4500)
Overview
- Secure log-on for PostalMate, CashMate, Security Settings & Time Clock
- Supported device: Digital Persona 4500
- Order at: www.techshedusa.com
Install Driver (Each Computer)
- Close PostalMate & POS
- Open PM Utilities (Start > PostalMate > PM Utilities)
- Do NOT plug in the fingerprint reader yet
- Go to Tools > Fingerprint Device Settings
- Click Driver Download
- Run Setup.msi
- Follow prompts to install
- Restart computer after install
Alternate: Download UareU driver (32-bit or 64-bit)

1. Close PostalMate & POS
2. Open PM Utilities (Start > PostalMate > PM Utilities)
3. Do NOT plug in the fingerprint reader yet
4. Go to Tools > Fingerprint Device Settings
5. Click Driver Download
6. Run Setup.msi
7. Follow prompts to install
8. Restart computer after install

Enroll User Fingerprints
- In PM Utilities, click Edit User
- Add or Edit a user
- Select Enroll/Verify Fingerprint(s)
- Click Enroll
- Choose a finger image → scan same finger 4 times
- Repeat for up to 3 fingers (recommended)
Click on the image for which you wish to enroll a fingerprint. Place your finger (the same finger that was selected) on the fingerprint reader. You’ll get a message if the scan was successful . Repeat the same finger 4 times. You may enroll up to 3 fingers. (More than one fingerprint is recommended: This allows another option due to cuts, band aids, etc.).
Log-On Settings
- In PM Utilities, go to Security Settings
- Select Log-on Settings tab
- Choose required applications:
- PostalMate/POS → Check Mandatory Log-ons
- Time Clock → May require additional setup
- Secure Areas → Requires Security setup
Using the Reader
- When log-on is required, scan enrolled fingerprint at prompt screen
