Badge printing with Splash

BEST PRACTICES
Test your set-up prior to the event by connecting your check-in device, printers and wireless router.
You can also pre-print badges and have them ready for your event.

REQUIRED READING

  1. Prior to setting up badge printing with your event, please review the following tutorials and articles:
How to Print Name Badges (tutorial)
    Badge Printing On-Site (article)
    On-Site Troubleshooting (article)
  2. You might also want to review these resources around managing check-in at your event:

Note that only two lines can be printed on each badge:

  • Primary label: Full name, first name, or last name
  • Secondary label: Any field on the RSVP form.
If you want to print a guest's "Company" or "Title", for example, be sure to include these questions on your RSVP form. If you are running a VIP event where you don't need to ask a guest their Company or Title but want to include this on their badge, you can create a hidden field on the RSVP form, and input the values manually.

TROUBLESHOOTING

To ensure both your check-in device and the printer are connected to the same network or hot spot:

  1. Go to the dashboard of the event and select badge printing.
  2. Disconnect printer.
  3. Click "Connect to Printer" but don't select the printer; hit cancel.
  4. You will notice a Finding your printer pop-up, proceed with that and select the printer from the pop-up.

To check your printer network connection:

  1. Check the network icon on the printer (top right of screen).
  2. If the icon is static, then your connection is good. If it's blinking, then it's searching for the network.
  3. Double-check the network device (the MIFI or router could be out of power, etc.), then re-establish the printer to the same network: WLAN > Infra Manual Setting > Select Network > Password.

To do a hard-reset:

  1. Sign out and close out of the Splash Host app.
  2. Reset your mobile device.
