Beginning soon, The New School will transition from Starfish and DegreeWorks to Stellic—a dynamic platform that brings together academic planning, progress tracking, and advising in one seamless experience.

This move reflects The New School’s ongoing commitment to modern, student-focused technology—tools that empower students to take ownership of their education while fostering stronger collaboration between students, advisors, and administrators.

A Student’s Academic Journey

Stellic integrates past progress, current coursework, and future planning into a single workspace. Advising and Student Support

Stellic centralizes advising tools to strengthen collaboration and timely guidance. A student's support network can log and share notes, schedule and manage appointments, and receive alerts when students may need additional support—all within a single platform that streamlines communication and enhances the impact of advising.

For Faculty

Faculty Engagement and Feedback

Stellic includes tools faculty rely on to monitor and support student success. Instructors can add notes, flag a concern for advisors when students may need additional guidance, complete mid-semester surveys to provide timely updates, and share kudos to recognize strong performance. These features ensure that faculty input remains central to the student's journey, while integrating seamlessly with degree planning and progress tracking.

Appointments and Communication

Faculty can set up office hours, manage appointments with students, and communicate directly through Stellic. Messages can be sent to individual students, an entire class, or custom groups, giving instructors flexibility to reach the right audience at the right time.

Getting Started

Learn the basics with Stellic's quickstart guide.

Student Profile

StudentProfile.png

Your student profile includes:

  • Core personal and academic details, such as GPA
  • Your declared programs of study, including majors and minors
  • Anticipated graduation date
  • Assigned academic advisor
  • Current schedule and future course plans
  • Plus additional information to support your academic journey

Track Your Progress

Each academic program (such as a major or minor) includes a live degree audit that makes it simple for advisors and students to track progress:

  • Requirements already fulfilled
  • Remaining requirements still to be completed
  • Transfer credits, substitutions, and approved exceptions

The audit refreshes automatically as courses are finished, providing an up-to-date view of progress toward graduation.

Plan Your Path

Plan academic terms with Stellic's student planner by arranging courses in a custom sequence. Prerequisites and term availability are flagged to help advisors guide students—planning does not guarantee enrollment or degree completion.
