Enter Time - Staff Holiday Break
Note: These instructions are for Managers to enter time Staff Holiday Break time off for their Student & Temp employees. All other hourly employees should enter Staff Holiday Break through requesting time off. Instructions for requesting time off can be found here:
Overview
In 2021, the university formalized the Winter Break into the university holiday calendar, granting additional paid vacation days for the Winter Break holiday. Occasionally the university grants additional bonus holidays. In order to accommodate the unique work schedules of each employee, we have created a new time off time type called Staff Holiday Break.
Please note: The payroll period will open as normal and you can begin entering time until the period closes. Time entered and submitted by the manager will be auto approved.
How to Enter Time for a Holiday Break (Managers)
Step 1: Navigate to the employee MyDay Profile and click the Actions button; scroll down to Time and Absence and select Enter Time.
Step 2: Select the week to enter time.
Step 3: A window will appear for you to enter time. Under Time Type, click the X to remove Hours Worked then click the “Prompt” (3 lines) icon. | Step 4: Select “Time Off”. |
Step 5: Select “Staff Holiday Break” then Position type the amount of hours you worked in the Hours field and click OK.
Please note: when selecting position please choose the correct position if a student, or temp employee that is shown in the drop down for position
- The time block will then appear on your spreadsheet and marked as ‘Staff Holiday Break’. Note: Please remember to submit the time for the week. The time submitted will be auto approved when entered by a manager.
