Lab Results now support QR Code validation and retrieval. The QR code can be shared via email, mms text, and on the actual PDF of the lab result itself.
This is used primarily for COVID-19 QR code validation while traveling or by corporations
COVID lab results can now have a QR code imbedded in the result for easy retrieval for validation purposes. A requesting party can scan the QR code to retrieve a validated result.
You can send out an email or text message invite to your patient for them to register in the patient portal and receive the QR code. From the patient account select the patient portal drop down, then click register portal account and send the patient a welcome message. Please note this will default to an email being sent unless you check off Send an SMS instead of an email or the patient has no email address, it will send via text message.

Once the QR code is scanned, the last name and DOB will need to be entered in order to retrieve the result as shown below.
