Navigating the MyDay Homepage
This is an example of how your homepage will appear when you log into MyDay. There are several clickable sections that you can use to navigate.
Home Page Icons
The chart below will provide a brief overview of the functionality each icon provides. Let’s start at the icons at the top of the page and work our way down.
Icon | Function | Description |
Home | directs you to the home page. Your homepage is always the first page you see when you login to MyDay. | |
Global Navigation Menu | The Global Navigation menu is a pop out window that houses your Apps and My Shortcuts. | |
Workday Assistant | The speech bubble icon represents a shortcut to Workday Assistant, a digital assistant chatbot designed to help you conversationally complete tasks and retrieve information within Workday. | |
My Tasks (Inbox) | includes tasks, approvals, due dates, and other items sent to you as part of business processes. | |
Notifications | Represented by the bell icon, are informational; inbox items that should be considered a to-do. | |
Search Bar | The Search Bar is a field that allows you to search for tasks, reports and people within your organization. | |
Profile icon | Represented by your profile photo (or a cloud) and serves as quick access to view your worker profile to perform tasks. |

If you click your profile picture in the top right corner, the following menu will drop down.
Profile Menu Functionality

View Profile | Displays your Worker Profile |
Home | Displays the home landing page. |
My Account | Change Preferences and view Organization ID |
Workbench | Configurable landing page for administrators and implementers. |
Favorites | Displays favorite Reports and Tasks |
My Reports | Contains a list of documents you have uploaded |
Help | Directs you to documentation that will assist you. |
Sign Out | Signs you out of MyDay |
Awaiting Your Action and Timely Suggestions
The Awaiting Your Action section displays tasks awaiting your action in your MyDay inbox. Timely suggestions offers updates on your active items.
Quick Tasks
MyDay's Quick Tasks uses machine learning and displays your most frequently used tasks. There is also a "View All Apps" button that will allow you navigate apps like the Global Navigation Menu.
Announcements
The Announcements section is used by the university to share MyDay announcements with the campus community.
Recommended For You
This section uses machine learning to recommend actions and tasks based on your role or popular actions.
ADDITIONAL APPS FOR MANAGERS
Starting in 2023R2 (September 11, 2023), managers will have 2 additional apps on their MyDay Homepage: Team Highlights and Important Dates that will provide additional contextual information and give managers more insight on areas that matter most. The contexts include Important Dates, Team Highlights, Quick Actions, and identifying manager user type
