Asset Classes in Moneytree Plan
Moneytree Plan allows users to fully customize the asset classes used for each scenario. Default classes can be modified in Settings > Asset Classes. They can also be modified for each individual scenario via the Asset Classes button in the Assets inputs.
NOTE: Changes to asset classes in Settings does not change the classes in any scenarios existing before the change. Learn how to make scenario asset classes match defaults.
Users have the option to have asset rates of return automatically populated by assigning an asset class. The program still ultimately apply rates of return based on assets pooled together by their taxation, so Asset Classes at most have an indirect affect on returns.
The primary purpose of Asset Classes is to compare clients' current allocation to the recommended allocation based on their risk tolerance. The Asset Allocation reports will show the current allocation, recommended allocation, and the amounts that need to be added/removed from each class to meet the recommended portfolio balance.
