What is the OAD?
The Organizational Analysis & Design (OAD) Survey is a personality diagnostic tool that helps organizations better understand the work-related temperaments and job behaviors of their employees. At Mazzetti, we use the OAD to support thoughtful hiring, onboarding, and professional development practices.
Importantly, the OAD is not a test—there are no right or wrong answers. It’s not a performance evaluation or a measure of intelligence or skills. Instead, it offers insight into how someone naturally operates and how they adapt within their current work environment.

What’s in the OAD Survey?
The survey consists of two sections:
- Section One: You’ll see a list of 110 adjectives and select those that describe you.
- Section Two: You’ll see the same list again, but this time, you’ll select the words that describe how you feel you must act in your current job.
The survey typically takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
Why Does Mazzetti Use the OAD?
We use the OAD as a tool to support how we understand, manage, and motivate employees across their time at Mazzetti.
- Hiring: During the interview process, candidates may be asked to complete an OAD to help us better understand their working style and how they might fit into the team and role. The results do not determine hiring decisions but help guide more meaningful conversations.
- Pre-boarding & Onboarding: If not completed during interviews, we may ask new hires to complete the survey as part of their onboarding. This helps managers, onboarding buddies, and team members better support new employees from day one.
- Ongoing Development: The OAD can be a helpful reflection and coaching tool throughout your Mazzetti journey to guide growth, collaboration, and leadership development.
