Exporting sales data from BigCommerce
Use the following steps to export historical sales data from BigCommerce
If there is not already an export template for Searchspring data, one will need to be created.
Creating An export Template
Select 'Advanced Settings' from the menu on the left.
From the 'Advanced Settings' submenu select 'Export Templates'.
Press the 'Create an Export Template' button.
Provide a name for the template and select:
Enable Orders Exporting
Enable Products Exporting
Enable SKUs Exporting
Enable Customers Exporting
Scroll further down the page and select 'Create one row per sub item' from the 'Sub Items' dropdown.
Navigate to the 'Orders' tab and click the checkbox next to 'Export This field' to deselect all fields.
Scroll down the page selecting the following fields:
Order ID
Order Date
Customer Email
Product Details
Product Qty
Product SKU
Then click the 'Save & Exit' button.
Once there is an export template the historical sales can be retrieved.
Exporting the Sales file
Select 'Orders' from the menu at the left, then 'Search' from the submenu.
Scroll to 'Search by Date' and select 'Custom Period' from the 'Date Range' dropdown.
Select a time period of the previous 12-18 months.
Click the 'Search' button at the bottom right.
From the list of orders returned click the 'Export All' button at the top.
From the 'Export Orders' screen which is then displayed:
Select the template which was created for Searchspring exports.
For 'File Format' make sure 'Export to Microsoft Excel (CSV)' is selected.
Click the 'Continue' button at bottom right.
Within the resulting popup click the 'Export my Orders to a CSV file' link and once the export has completed click the provided link in order to download.
The resulting historical sales file can be used by Searchspring to supplement a customer's data in order to enable Personalized Recommendations.
