We're adding live vessel tracking to your Logixboard Shipment Details page!
Live vessel tracking, updated hourly.
Once the vessel has departed the origin port, Logixboard will show a live, pulsing tracker of the vessel, updated at the top of every hour.
Live vessel tracking will only appear on the Shipment Details page.

In our continued effort to help you show customers the most up-to-date, accurate tracking information, we’re adding more frequent updates regarding the whereabouts of the vessel.
How this helps:
One place for your customers to go: We understand that customers want frequent updates on their shipment, and with hourly vessel tracking, they can rely on you for the most up-to-date information rather than going directly to the vessel’s website.
Builds trust: Your customers are always worried about where their shipments are. As your partner in serving your customers, having more frequent updates can alleviate these worries as they can watch the vessel continue along its journey on an hourly basis.
🔭 Is there anything I need to do to turn it on?
This functionality will rely on a specific ID in your CargoWise instance.
This ID is called Vessel IMO
Also known as Lloyds/IMO Number
In order for us to pick up the geolocation of the vessel, the Vessel IMO must be present in your CargoWise instance. Every vessel in the world has this ID, so all you need to do is train your operators to enter this ID in your CargoWise, if they haven’t already.
How to enter Vessel IMO in CargoWise
In CargoWise, go to Maintain —> Reference Data —> Vessels
For each vessel, you'll find the "Lloyds/IMO Number" right under the Vessel Name. Update that field with the Vessel IMO number.
Once you apply these changes to each vessel, you’re done! You only have to do this once and then Cargowise will recognize the ID every time you ship with that vessel.
🧐 How does it work?
Shipment Details Mini-Map
Live vessel tracking will only appear in the Shipment Details page, not the big Shipment Overview page with all of your shipments (can you imagine the chaos?! 🤯).
Activation Workflow:
Once your operator enters an ATD, this will trigger our system to turn on the GPS tracking for that vessel.
A blue dot will appear in your Mini-Map, and will be updated every hour, at the top of the hour.
This will continue along the entire journey of the vessel until your operator enters an ATA. This will trigger us to turn off the GPS tracking, since we know the vessel arrived.

Will ETAs and ETDs from vessel tracking update ETAs and ETDs elsewhere in Logixboard?
No. ETAs and ETDs will continue to display the ETAs and ETDs that exists in Cargowise.

When does the vessel tracking start and end?
As soon as a leg is considered active, it starts tracking. When a ATD is entered into Cargowise it begins tracking. When an ATA is entered, it ends.
