How to: Update Wrap to siding

Context: Hover will not change the exterior materials on a 3D model for cosmetic purposes. Hover 3D models only display the structure’s actual materials; we do not provide material swaps. Customers need to use our 3D Design Workspace to visualize non-existent materials on a property.

One exception to this rule is replacing or updating wrap in the 3D model. Construction wrap (or house wrap) is a building material. Construction wrap acts as a weather-resistant barrier applied to the exterior of structure before siding installation. There are two scenarios in which wrap may be depicted in the 3D model:

  • If the exterior material is not clearly captured in a photo, we will apply wrap to that area in the 3D model. In these cases, we are lacking an unobstructed depiction of the area. This area will be depicted with wrap and its measurements will be include as "unknown" in the PDF.
  • Alternatively, a structure may actually be partially or completely covered in wrap because it is under construction.

In both cases, users can provide the correct material for a wrap area and request we update this. We will reprocess the project to update the wrap area to the correct material in both the 3D model and measurements. In most cases, a user will request for wrap to be updated to siding. Workflow: Updating Wrap to Siding

Step 1:

Confirm with the customer their exact request. Make sure to view the 3D model with them to make note of any specifics. For example, is the siding horizontal or vertical? These specifics are important to note and explain to OPS for updating.

Step 2:

Let the user know we will make the changes for them and will update them once it's completed.

Then, click the plus sign next to "Back Office Ticket" and select "OPS QA" from the options list

Step 3:

On the back office ticket:

  • Add a Subject
  • Brief Description
  • Rails ID
  • Manowar ID

Step 4:

Click on Back Office Ticket Link that appears on your IC case. In the Notes section:

  • Add full description
  • Add marked up images
  • Select “Cross post note”

Step 5: Snooze your original case with the customer for 30 minutes. OPS will cross post a note with a QA screenshot once completed. If the user has questions while they are waiting, they can still contact you!

  • Do not manually reassign these cases to Cosmetic Request queue for breaks/lunches
  • Chat team can go away & reassign for lunch

Step 6: Once OPS confirms, send the image to the customer asking them if they need any other changes made on their model. Close the case.
