Email Notifications + "Watchlist" Updates

πŸŽ‰New Feature Announcement

We've upgraded three things to make it easier to manage email notifications, and to lay the groundwork for broader and more configurable notifications for you in the future.

  1. The "Shipment Watchlist" on the dashboard has been renamed "Pinned Shipments."

    1. You can still pin shipments to your dashboard from the shipment details page and the shipment explorer table.

    2. Shipments currently on the Shipment Watchlist will remain on the dashboard as a pinned shipment.

  2. "Pinned Shipments" will NOT have email notifications automatically enabled.

    1. You can turn on and notifications on the shipment details page by clicking the notification bell.

    2. You can view all shipments with email notifications enabled in settings > notifications.

  3. Global notifications in your settings have been simplified and the page design refreshed.

🧐 Great! How are things going to work now?

πŸ“ Here are written steps:

πŸ“© Email Notifications

You will still be able to subscribe to email notifications, but the way you do so will be a little different:

  1. Shipment-by-Shipment: Previously, the way you could subscribe to status updates on a shipment-by-shipment basis was to go to the Shipment's "Activity" feed, and click the toggle to subscribe. Now, you'll see we have replaced the "Star" with a "Bell," and you will be able to Follow the shipment to receive email alerts regarding the shipment's status updates, as well as any time someone writes a new Message, which we are now calling Comments.
To Follow a shipment, click on the new Bell πŸ”” icon. You will then be subscribed to ALL status updates for this shipment, as well as receive an email alert anytime someone posts a Comment.

How do I know which shipments I'm following? Great question. Go to Settings β€”> Notifications. There is a list of all shipments you've followed. You can also unfollow directly in that table.

  2. Global Status Alerts: These remain similar to the previous way to subscribe to global status changes, the screen just looks a little bit different to make it clear what you are subscribing to. Go to Settings β€”> Notifications, then tick the box next to each of the statuses you want to subscribe to. You will then receive an alert for ALL shipments once they have that status update you subscribed to.
For example, if you tick the box next to Gate Out, you'll receive email notifications for EVERY shipment that gets a new status of Gate Out.

πŸ“Œ Watchlist now called "Pinned" Shipments

We are rebranding the Watchlist to Pinned Shipments. Users will still be able to "pin" and "unpin" a shipment from the main dashboard, to make it fast and easy to get to shipments they want to keep a close eye on.

Pinned shipments will appear in the Pinned Shipments table on the dashboard (currently named Shipment Watchlist). Pinning a shipment will have no other impact on the user's experience, meaning it does not affect notifications in any way.

A user can pin the shipment from the Shipment Explorer table, or within the Shipment Details page by clicking on the push pin icon.

Migration Detail: All shipments currently on the watchlist will be "pinned" shipments and will continue to be displayed on the dashboard.
