A featured collection consists of one or multiple assets where only the first asset on the list will be shown in the service. The asset is displayed with a large 16:9 image.

Featured collection & featured carousel design

You can influence the design of every featured collection & featured carousel in your service. Follow these steps:

  1. Find your featured collection or your featured carousel in the Magine Pro Console.
  2. Click on the Collection UI tab
  3. Decide the general layout of your collection
  4. Image size: Large setting sets the image to 90% of the screen and small to 60%
  5. Overlay opacity: Define the opacity of the overlay that covers the image. This setting can help to make your metadata more visible and easier to read.
  6. Overlay colour: Define the colour of the overlay that covers the image.
  7. Gradient overlays: Define the colour gradient of your image from top, bottom, left, and right to enhance your image presentation. The gradient overlay has the theme colour (background colour) as default.

  8. Container opacity: Define the opacity of the metadata container. This setting can help to make your metadata more visible and easier to read.
  9. Container colour: Define the colour of the metadata container. This setting can help to make your metadata more visible and easier to read.
  10. Carousel specifics: Define the rotation interval, navigation buttons and page indicator.
  11. Add or remove metadata items for small and medium screen sizes. Small screens are mobile devices like phones and medium screens are tablets and web browsers.
  12. Channel logo: If the collection features a channel or broadcast you can decide to display the channel logo
  13. List with property names: This option adds the property name in front of the list e.g. Genres: Horror, Sci-Fi, Thriller. Available for the fields genre, director, cast and custom tags.
  14. Text string: This option displays only one metadata field without the property name. Available for the fields title, synopsis, metadata kind (movie, show, etc.), genres, production year, content rating, content duration, directors, cast and custom tags.
  15. Text multiple fields: This option displays several metadata fields without the property name. You can add a separator of your choice. Available for the fields title, synopsis, metadata kind (movie, show, etc.), genres, production year, content rating, content duration, directors, cast and custom tags.
  16. Every metadata item can be customised regarding colour, font size, bold, capital letters and vertical padding.
  17. Check your design in the preview before you click save.
  18. When satisfied click save. Your changes will appear on the web and mobile devices almost instantly. You will need to reload the page to see the latest version of your collection.
