- There are two main pathways to initiate scheduling an appointment in Athena:
a. When searching for the member, you can click the “Schedule” button
b. You can navigate to the member’s Quickview, click on the “Scheduling” dropdown menu and select “Schedule Appointment”.
- When you are on the scheduling page, first select the Department.
- Next, select the Provider.
- Select the Appointment Type.
- Click the date on the Calendar.
- Click the box next to the start time of the appointment. Because you have already selected the Appointment Type, it should fill in the pre-programmed number of time slots corresponding to that visit type.
- Scroll down and add additional information for the provider in the Notes/Reason free text field. To show this information to the provider, click the box next to “Add appointment note to homepage schedule”. If you do not click the box, the provider will not see the note. If the visit is at a member’s home, please use the Note/Reason section to add the address where the service will occur. The home visit address workflow is described in further detail here.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Schedule Appointment(s)” button to finish.
