Manage Hourly Employees Time Off and Leave

This guide is intended for Managers of hourly employees ONLY.

OVERVIEW

As a manager, in MyDay, you can view your direct reports’ time worked and time off, enter or correct time on their behalf, and view/assign work schedules. This guide is sectioned off by each of these MyDay functions and provides you with step-by-step instructions.


Managing Employees Time Off and Leaves

Step 1: From the home page, click the Inbox icon to the top right of the screen.

Step 2: Select the Time Off Request inbox item.

Step 3: Click Approve, Send Back, or Deny then, click Done on the next screen.

Do not press Cancel. Clicking Cancel will not cancel the request, but simply move the request back to your Inbox. If you select Deny or Send Back you must include a reason.

Enter Time Off for Your Direct Reports

Step 1: Sign into MyDay and click on the Global Navigation Icon in the top left corner.

Step 3: Click “Enter Time Off” button in the Actions column.

Step 4: Enter The Workers’ name and click OK.

Step 5: Select the day(s) then click Request Time Off button to confirm.

Step 6: Select the Type of Time Off from the drop down menu and enter the Daily Quantity field. NOTE: You may only ask for one time off type per request (example: vacation, NYC Sick Leave). Click Submit when completed.

Once entered, the days requested will be shown with a green checkmark which indicates that it has been entered and approved by you. No further action is required.

Note: When the manager enters a time off request for an employee, no approval is required.. A Time Off Request appears in gray until it is approved. Once approved, it becomes green


Correcting Time on Your Employee’s Behalf

Step 1: Sign into MyDay and click on the Global Navigation Icon in the top left corner.

Step 3: Click “Enter Time Off” button in the Actions column.

Step 4: Enter The Workers’ name and click OK.

Step 5: Select the day(s) that you want to correct. If multiple days need to be corrected, make sure you choose all of the days in question.

Step 6: Enter an adjustment to requested hours. Remove hours by entering “0” (zero). The projected balance at the top automatically updates once you leave the field.

Step 7: Enter a comment detailing the nature of the correction then click Submit, then Done.

Viewing Time Off CALENDAR for Your Direct Reports

Step 1: Click the Global Navigation Icon in the top left corner.

Step 3: Click the “Time Off and Leave Calendar” button in the View column.

Viewing Time Off for A Direct Report

Step 1: Type the employee’s name in the Search Bar and press Enter to bring up their Worker Profile.

Step 2: Click Actions below their profile picture on the left side.

Step 3 Hover on Time and Leave and then click View Schedule for Worker

Step 4: Enter the date for which you wish to view the employee’s schedule and click OK.

You can also click on the calendar icon and select the date from there.This will bring you to a monthly calendar and show the employee’s scheduled days and hours.

You must have Author or Collection Owner permission to create Guru Cards. Contact your team's Guru admins to use this template.
