Intel Processors
➡️ 14th Gen is the Current Generation Processor and is up to 1.5 years old.
➡️ 13th Gen is about 2.5 years old.
➡️ 12th Gen is about 3.5 years old.
➡️ 11th Gen is about 4–5 years old.
➡️ 10th Gen is about 5–6 years old.
➡️ 9th Gen is about 6–7 years old.
➡️ 8th Gen is about 7–7.5 years old.
➡️ 7th Gen is about 8 years old.
➡️ 6th Gen is about 9 years old.
➡️ 5th Gen is about 9.5–10 years old.
➡️ 4th Gen is about 10.5–11 years old.
How to Check Your Intel Processor Version:
- Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command.
- Type in
msinfo32
and press Enter. - In the System Information window, look for the field called Processor.
- You’ll see your Intel processor listed — for example:
- Intel Core i5-12400 → 12th Generation
- Intel Core i7-14700K → 14th Generation
AMD Processors
➡️ Ryzen 7000 Desktop (e.g., Ryzen 5 7600, Ryzen 7 7700) is about 2-3 years old.
➡️ Threadripper Pro 5000 WX is about 2-3 years old.
Previous Gen Ryzen 5, 7, Threadripper (4000/5000 series) –
➡️ Ryzen 5000 is about 3-5 years old.
➡️ Ryzen 4000 is about 5 years old.
➡️ Ryzen 3 is about 8 years old.
➡️ APU A8 / A10 Series is about 9-14 years old.
➡️ FX Series is about 11-14 years old.
➡️ Phenom is about 14-18 years old.
