Connection Limits
We are noticing that LinkedIn is experimenting with taking away the invite-by-email function for some accounts. This means the account would be limited to 80-150 requests per week, Group messages, and InMail messages.
We recognize that the new limits LinkedIn has instated are impactful. While there is no way to increase the number of connection requests that go out weekly these are our best recommendations.

How Does It Work?
- Activate Sales Navigator licenses for all accounts. You can use this link - https://www.linkedin.com/sales/referrals - to activate a 2-month free trial.
- Follow the best practices outlined below that include few InMails and Group messages setup ideas. We've noticed that many clients who have Sales Navigator don’t utilize its full potential, 400+- new contacts per week. Below are recommended steps to ramp up your activity using Sales Nav:
InMails
One profile with Sales Nav can send about 200+- InMails per week. This is 200 new prospects you can target every week. InMails are often more effective compared to connection requests. In order for Open InMails to work you will need to do the following:
Sales Navigator subscription.
Go to Connector campaign > Steps, switch from ‘STANDARD’ to ‘INMAIL/GROUP’ tab. Fill out the steps and save.
NOTE! Adding 5-10-20k+ contacts from Sales Navigator search to an active Connector will help find more contacts able to receive InMails, this will help keep account more active through the week.
Group messages
Profile can send about 200+- Group messages per week. This is another 200 new contacts available for your prospecting every week. Group message can be sent to contacts outside of the 1st circle, as long as you are in the same group.
Steps required to make Group messages work:
Sales Navigator subscription.
Join groups with your target audience. It is best to join a number of groups with a large audience. Keep in mind, the number of outstanding ‘join group’ requests is limited to about 20, however, once you are admitted to a group or you withdraw a ‘join group’ request, you can continue sending new requests.
Run a Group search. Search > Start new search > Group search. To filter group members and to send them a message you must join the group first and must be subscribed to Sales Navigator. Make sure you use the group filter for this to work. In Sales Navigator search bar click on ‘Lead filters’, go to ‘Personal’ section, enter group name using ‘Groups’ filter. Use only one group per search.
Go to Connector campaign > Steps, switch from ‘STANDARD’ to ‘INMAIL/GROUP’ tab. Fill out the steps and save.
Client Example
Regarding InMails and Group messages, we just received feedback from a client managing a few hundred accounts on Friday, quote:
"Wanted to thank you again for the insights regarding supercharging the connector campaigns. This is huge - we see the outreach volumes back at around 2k per account per month 🤝! I noticed Inmail and group responses perform way better than the regular ones so far. A year ago this wasn't the case ;)."
This client followed our suggestions provided below:
The suggestion is to run a Sales Nav search and add 5-10-20k+ contacts to an active Connector to have more contacts available to receive InMails. This allows targeting of around 200+- contacts per week and makes sure there are more contacts with Open Status.
As for Group messages, think about joining a large group, say the travel industry with 1m+ members. It might have 1-2-5k contacts in your target market, it is less than 1% of your audience, but when looking at the absolute numbers, it is a significant presence.
