How to create custom questions on SA Youth

What are Custom Questions?

  • These are questions that you can create on SA Youth, which can be added to Opportunity Adverts to be posed to applicants as part of the application process
  • These are additional questions that you might want to ask applicants, to help with your shortlisting process and to find filter to your ideal work seekers as quickly as possible

Some Tips to think about when creating custom questions?

  1. You can choose the format in which you would like applicants to respond to your custom question(s). There are 6 options in which applicants can respond to a custom question:
    • Short answer text
    • Paragraph text answer
    • Multiple choice
    • Drop down
    • Yes/ No
    • Email address
  2. Remember to phrase your questions in such a way that is simple and easy to understand
  3. Remember that more often than not, our work seekers do not have prior work experience. This might be worthwhile considering when creating custom questions
  4. We recommend not asking more than 4 - 5 custom questions

How to create custom questions

Login into your profile on SA Youth, once logged in, click on image.png on your home landing page to create a new opportunity advert which will take you to the custom questions sections after you have filled in the advert's details and requirements.

Select questions and add your Custom question/s

Before creating your custom questions you will need to choose the format in which you would like the work-seeker to answer.

How to Manage Custom Questions

On you landing page click on organisation and select 'manage custom questions'

Click 'Select Action' to View, Edit or Delete a custom question and you can also change the order or sequence of the custom questions

Top Tips:

  • Please note you can only delete a custom question if you have not linked them to an opportunity advert
  • Use one or more custom questions and make or require the answer in the relevant format in to obtain the best candidate for the opportunity advert
