Using Variable Credits - TEACHER Side of PowerSchool

Variable Credits can be used when it is not known how many credits a student or group of students will earn until the end of the course, or when students within a course earn different amounts of credits in the same course.
Examples may include Work Experience (from 3 to 10 credits), or Special Projects (from 1 to 5 credits), etc.

*This does not apply to CTS Courses since credits are earned using single credit Modules.

FROM THE TEACHER SIDE OF POWERSCHOOL

The Variable Credits option must be applied to each course "section" from the Admin side of PowerSchool before a teacher will have the ability to set credit values within PowerTeacher Pro.

Once Variable Credits have been enabled for sections, respective columns will appear in PowerTeacher Pro on the
the Traditional Grades (end-of-term) scoresheet. (A+ Grading > Traditional)

Teachers MUST enter each student's Awarded and Attempted variable credit value.

*IMPORTANT:
1. Teachers MUST ensure that the credit value being entered in each column is a valid credit offering for the specified course.
2. Teachers MUST ensure that BOTH columns contain the same value. This means that regardless of how many credits were attempted, both columns should contain the value of credits that were AWARDED.
