CS Tool: Slow Upload Configuration for slow upload complaints

Symptoms

  • Photographer selected files to upload, the upload began (aka progress bar is visible) but they are complaining of slow or not moving uploads, or
  • They see the error File(s) cannot be uploaded - in the progress bar, or
  • Agents see the error blobUploadError in the CS Tool when "Upload info" button is clicked, or
  • Agents see the error blobUploadCommError in the CS Tool when "Upload info" button is clicked

How to proceed:

  1. Go to CS Tool for the photographer's account, in the Debugging section and click "Uploader Info"Screenshot 2023-11-08 at 11.01.12 am.png
  2. Scroll down and look for the Uploader that the photographer is having problems with. If there are multiple Uploaders listed, take note of which one because you will need to inform T2 later which one it is.
    1. If you see any of these errors listed [ blobUploadError ] or [ blobUploadCommError ] in CS Tool next to the Uploads, jump straight to "Below 18 Mbps/Slow Config button" steps in the table below.
    2. If you don't see the errors, continue with the steps below.
  3. Ask the photographer to quit the uploader.
  4. Run a network connection test (https://www.speedtest.net/) to find network upload speed. Ask for a screenshot of results (save the screenshot to send to T2).
  5. Check the Upload speed, and follow the steps below depending on the speed:

ABOVE 18Mbps

BELOW 18 Mbps / Slow Config Button

  1. Run steps from How to check upload speed for Microsoft Servers. After completing these steps, return back to this card.
  2. Ask the photographer to launch the Uploader again
  3. If there were errors initially (before you asked the photographer to quit the Uploader) in the Uploader progress bar -> Click to Retry. If there were no errors, the Uploader will automatically resume the upload, so there's nothing more to do.
  4. See if the issue has resolved.
  5. If not yet resolved, go to their account in CS Tool, and check the Storage is correct for the photographer's location.
For Hi-Res Storage Client - European users need to have "North Europe", Australian - Australia, US East - East US option 2, US West - West US. Exact same settings needs to be for Low-Res.
  6. Then, create a ticket, include all of the screenshots collected and send to T2. If there are multiple Uploaders listed in CS Tool, let T2 know which is the one they are trying to use. You can close this card.
