Proper Ergonomics: Chair (via Noom)

Chair

  1. While sitting in your chair, your feet should reach the ground comfortably. If your feet are on the ground but there’s a lot of pressure near your knee, or your lower back doesn’t reach the backrest, the chair may be too high (typically for shorter, or vertically challenged people 😁). Alternatively, if you’ve got a lot of pressure on your butt and there’s space between the chair and your upper knee, the chair may be too low (mostly for all of you tall people… how’s the weather up there!?).

  2. Your armrests, if applicable, should not be in the way nor push your shoulders above a resting position. They should be there for when you want to rest and use them, but not while you’re typing.

  3. It’s important to have a comfortable chair that has adjustments so that you can adjust it to your body type. The chair has become the modern-day torture device because we all too often are contorting our bodies to fit into chairs not designed for us.
