How to Add a Judgment Document to the Court Application
This document is designed to walk you through how to add a new judgment document to the court system. This document type is used to create a digitally signed judgment for a case.
You will need access to Documents – Work With Documents, Word, and the ShellDocs folder on the court’s shared drive.
Create the Document in Word
Open Microsoft Word.
Create the document and save it to the ShellDocs folder on the court’s shared drive.
ADD THE DIGITAL SIGNATURE FIELD (if Judge is e-signing judgments)
Open judgment document.
Place the cursor near the Judge's signature line in the document.
From the top menu select Insert.
From the Select menu, select Quick Parts.
From the Quick Parts menu, Select Field
Select Field Name: Include Picture
Enter Filename or URL: C:\LTSigs\SigJ.jpg
Select “Data not stored with document”
Unselect “Preserve formatting during updates”
Select OK
You will see a box appear with Judge.
Note: You may see a box with an error message, this if fine also.
Select the box and then right click and select Picture from the menu.
Select the Layout tab.
Select In Front of text for the Wrapping Style
Select Ok
Select the signature box and drag the signature box above the Affiant signature line in the document.
Use the dots to size the signature box to fix above the signature line.
Save document
Add the Document to the Court System
Select Documents – Work With Documents
Select the magnifying glass.
The file search box will open, select the document that was just created in the ShellDocs folder and select Open.
Description – Enter your description for the document. The description will show in the Authorize Judgment screen.
Judgment – Select the Judgment that the document should be associated with. See How to Add a Judgment to the Court Application to add a new judgment.
Image Type – Select Judgment
Select Add
