Lang Café, also known as Café New, is a common space open to university students, staff, and faculty. The café is operated by Chartwells (our campus dining partner).

Terms of Use

  • No furniture rentals permitted in Lang Café.
  • The room has a screen and projector. Please submit an Events IT request for assistance.
  • The lights are dimmable, and the shades on the 11th Street side (none facing the courtyard) can be lowered. Please submit a NetFacilities work order in advance to adjust the lighting and shades.
  • There are offices below the Café, so please keep volumes at a reasonable level.
  • During the academic year, this space is used as a university café until 5:30 p.m., after which it can be booked for events (2:00 pm on weekends).

BEST PRACTICE: Post a sign about your event (listing the event title and start time) to the entrance of Lang Café earlier in the day, or the day prior, to alert the regular users of the space and give them time to find another location.
