CrowdStrike | macOS Installation

CrowdStrike recommends using an MDM solution to deploy and sync a CrowdStrike-provided profile to your endpoints. Use the standalone installer to set up the Falcon Sensor for Mac if your organization does not have an MDM solution available for use.

  • Supported operating systems: macOS Monterey 12 and later

  1. Download the CrowdStrike installer file
  2. Copy your Customer ID checksum (CCID) (from your Customer Reference Card).
  3. Double-click to open the downloaded .pkg file and the Falcon sensor for Mac installer opens.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Review the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use and click Continue.
  6. Click Install.
  7. When prompted, enter your administrative credentials and click Install Software.
  8. In the macOS dialog, click OK.
  9. In the installer window, enter your customer ID with checksum (CCID).
  10. Click Continue.
  11. Click Setup and when prompted, click Allow to allow network content filtering.
  12. Click Continue.
  13. Click Setup and when prompted, click Open System Settings.
    1. The macOS Privacy & Security system settings window opens.
  14. In the Security section, click Allow to allow system extension access.

  15. When prompted, enter your administrator credentials and click Modify Settings.
  16. Close the macOS Privacy & Security system settings window and click Continue in the installer window.
  17. Click System Settings in the installer window, and the macOS Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access system settings window opens.
  18. In the Full Disk Access section, enable Falcon Sensor.

  19. When prompted, enter your administrator credentials and click Modify Settings.

    1. Alternatively, you can click Notifications in the sidebar of the macOS System Settings window and under the Application Notifications section, find Falcon Notifications.
  21. Enable to allow Falcon notifications.

  1. Close the macOS System Settings window and return to the installer:
      • A completed setup with three green checks indicates a successfully installed sensor that is registered, operational, and connected to the CrowdStrike cloud.
      • If you run into issues or see a red X, contact the Bantam team for assistance.
  2. Click Finish.
  3. Click Close to exit the installer.

You must have Author or Collection Owner permission to create Guru Cards. Contact your team's Guru admins to use this template.
