Locating, Submitting, and Editing a Grant Application
Use the grantee portal to access your application. Please review our Grant Portal Resources for more information about the grantee portal. If additional assistance is needed, reach out to:
- EF: grants-help@ef.org
- EAF: grants-help@energyactionfund.org
The first place you will land in the portal is the home screen.
1) Locating your Application
There are two ways to locate an application: from the Home screen or the Request tab.
From the HOME SCREEN
Any open applications will appear on the Home screen under OPEN APPLICATIONS - NEEDS ACTION
- You can begin your application by selecting the Request Number.
From The REQUEST TAB
- Any grant request -- either a pending application, active or completed grant -- will be listed under Requests.
- Applications will show up under Pending Requests.
2) Starting your Application
- When you click on the Request Number (e.g., R-12345), it will take you to the application.
- There are four different sections that you must complete to submit your application: Project Information, Organization Information, Contact Information, and Banking Information.
You can navigate between these four sections by selecting the different tabs on the application.
3) Navigating the Application
- You can navigate through different sections by selecting Next or Save & Next
- Any required fields or files will have a * next to them.

When one of the sections has been completed, a green checkbox will appear to the right of that section:

4) Submitting an Application
When you have reviewed and submitted all four sections of Project Information, Organization Information, Contact Information, and Banking Information, and there is a green checkbox by all of them, you will have the ability to submit your application:
We will begin our internal review process when you select the green Submit checkbox.
Application Status: Application Received
When you have selected the Submit button, the application will be submitted for review by internal Energy Foundation or Energy Action Fund staff. This application status means that internal EF or EAF staff have received the application and will begin reviewing it shortly.
5) Re-Submit a Grant Application
You might be asked to provide us with additional information on a grant. We will contact you directly to request this information and write a note within your application about what additional information we need from you.
