OneLogin - Getting Started

Security and the end user experience is top of mind when working with our tools here at Thinkific, which is why we are excited to be transitioning to OneLogin. This service will allow us to consolidate access to multiple applications/tools into one set of username and password credentials (also known as SSO or Single Sign On). We use over 200 apps here at Thinkific and while they are all not yet available through OneLogin, we are prioritizing the most critical tools first and will be rolling out new credentials in OneLogin on a weekly basis.

To get started with the service, check your Thinkific inbox for an invitation to join OneLogin. If you don't see it, look in spam based on your filtering settings. You will be prompted to setup a secure password, which should align with our Password Policy. Two factor authentication will be required, so please ensure you download a new, or use an existing Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) app such as OneLogin Protect or Google Authenticator (used for most 2FA currently). It's important you DO NOT delete your MFA app to ensure you can access the authentication code for your OneLogin account. Instructions for both are below. At the end of this card, there is also a FAQ section to help answer common questions you may have.

Setting up OneLogin

  1. An email from OneLogin should be in your inbox (make sure check spam in case its not in inbox) with the subject: "Invitation to OneLogin from Thinkific Labs, Inc.". The contents should look like this:Screen Shot 2022-02-07 at 2.06.49 PM.jpg

  2. Upon clicking the link, you may be prompted to submit your username. This will be your Thinkific email address. Screen Shot 2022-02-07 at 2.13.11 PM.png

  3. You will be asked to define a secure password. Be sure to follow best practices from Thinkific's Password Policy. Screen Shot 2022-02-07 at 2.12.55 PM.png

  4. Lastly, you will be prompted to setup MFA with a choice of either OneLogin Protect or Google Authenticator. Note: OneLogin Protect works the same way as Google Authenticator but it is preferred because it pushes the notification and asks you to approve vs. using Google Authenticator where you will have to manually input a 6 digit code. 5. Hooray! You're all setup. You can now login and access your apps. You may get a screen on the first time sign in to install an extension which is completely optional and can be skipped if you prefer.

  6. Once on the main screen, click the "Company: Thinkific" tab and access your apps by clicking the app tile. Everyone's screen will look different as not everyone accesses the same apps. Screen Shot 2022-02-07 at 2.21.03 PM.png

FAQs

  1. I am used to using the Screen Shot 2022-02-07 at 2.26.52 PM.pngoption for most of the apps that I access. Will anything change?

Yes. The only change is that when you click those buttons Google will redirect you to OneLogin starting on Monday February, 21st. Nothing needed on your end other than to ensure you have completed the setup process described above.

  1. I am used to using 1Password to input my credentials. Will I still need that?

Only for shared accounts or logins which are not tied to your username and apps that are not yet setup with OneLogin. These will also be slowly migrated over to OneLogin and announced when the time comes.

  1. Do all apps support this kind of login system and if so, when will my team's app be implemented?

No. Not all apps support this, and usually when they do, it's a higher subscription plan that is needed. We will be working with the Security Council on defining which apps are most critical to implement first. For those that do not support it, we can implement workarounds to deliver a similar login experience.

  1. What happens if I forgot my password. Who do I reach out to?

OneLogin has a self service portal so that you can reset your password on your own. Please see instructions for Resetting your OneLogin Password.

  1. I am implementing an app in the coming future and would like to have this included. How can we make it happen?

Please submit an implementation support request here.

  1. Where or who do I reach out to if i have any issues with the tool?

Please submit an IT Ticket or reach out in the #help channel tagging @IT.
