Create final Production Order
Introduction
How to create a final production order for production orders that are at a preliminary stage of production.
This usually means the base material (woven, knitted, imported fabrics) are at the factory, a production order has already been made to add a finish, but has not yet been planned.
Description of the Work Process
preliminary production orders
All new production orders which have still the preliminary stage can be found under finishing > production order - overview
here you can filter on the field 'State' where when keyed in 'PRE' you see all preliminary orders
This screen is only meant to consult, not plan.
create final Production order
on daily / weekly basis the preliminary production orders can be converted to a final production order.
The reason why this has been split is, that several similar SKU orders can be booked, where we want to combine them into the same production run.
So in the screen of 'create final production order' we can do this combining.
Piece selection
In our case we will do the planning for the B1 finish, where we can see that in total 12 pieces are waiting to be finished, where they are linked to 3 different preliminary orders, with 2 different Linoso colors ( 103 & 801 )
To create a final production order, all we have to do is select which pieces we want to plan and click on 'Creation - production order'
We have the option to pick the pieces, depending on the urgency of them
Than we'll be informed that they were coming from 3 different orders
Assign production unit
if, in the routing, the default production unit is keyed in, will the selected PO's be assigned to that machine
if not, you'll have the option at that time to select the machine on which the production will run.
When not known, you can skip this step
final PO created
with these steps, the final production orders have been created.
(order 48 - 50 )
keep in mind that the final PO is a new PO number, with a reference to the previous one.
this since, it could be only a part of the preliminary PO is converted to the final PO.
assign production unit
When in the previous steps you haven't assigned a production unit, this could be done through the sequence planning
Finishing > production order - plan sequence
Make sure that this flag is enabled:
on the bottom of this screen you see the 'production orders without prod. group/unit
it's sufficient to key in the 'prod group' / 'prod unit' fields the correct group and unit.
Once this is saved, the PO will be assigned to the production unit.
Non producible production orders
in the "Create final production order" screen, texware will show by default only the production orders which have reserved inventory to which can be converted to a final production order.
if you want to see which production orders are still pending, you can deselect the flag 'With Qty in selection only' to show you all PO's which are still waiting on pieces.
This could be due to a piece still being produced or where we don't have enough inventory off
Forecast from weaving/knitting
During the create final PO, you can consider the quantities which are still being produced in weaving and knitting as well.
For that, you can key in an hour range where, according to the weaving & knitted finished piece date/time, you will be able to plan them as well.
Note that this is a theoretical calculation, so it might be that the pieces won't be available at the required time
