Roku: SVOD IAP offer creation

If you want to offer subscriptions through In-app purchases on Roku you need to create an offer in your Roku account and match it with an offer in the Magine Pro Console.

General

Before you can sell offers through Roku you need to sign the Roku payment agreement and fill out tax forms.

If an offer is visible in the app depends on the visibility of the offer in the Magine Pro Console.

Roku offer set up

1. Login to your Roku developer account

2. Switch to the developer dashboard

3. Go to My channels --> Manage My In-channel products

4. Click on add a new product

5. Select your channel and a product category

6. Add a product name that will be visible to your customers

7. Add a product ID and copy it

8. Select the purchase type

9. Select a pricing tier

10. Decide if you want to offer a free trial or an introductory price

If you want to sell several offers through Roku and users shouldn't be allowed to combine them e.g. monthly and yearly subscriptions you will need to create a product group.
A product group allows users to upgrade and downgrade between them and preventing users paying double for the same content.

Create matching offer in the console

When you have created an offer in Google you need to create an offer in the Magine Pro Console.

1. Go to the commercial section in the Magine Pro Console

2. Click on "Create offer"

3. Name your offer

4. Select Third-party and then subscription in the drop-down menu

5. Add unique selling points and an image

6. Select Roku as a provider

7. Paste the Roku Product ID into the external product ID field

8. Define in which region the offer can be purchased

9. Add a package

10. Add at least a start date and a purchase period for rental and pass offers

11. Review and create
