Customer Promotions or Promo Codes can be something that a Customer gets notified about in order to incentivize them into placing an order with us so it's important that we understand what they are and what role we play in it so below we'll break it down for you!


THE PURPOSE πŸ’–

Alright, imagine you're walking into a candy store, and you see two signs. One says, "Buy One Get One Free" and the other says, "Regular Price." Which candy are you more likely to buy? Probably the one with the deal, right? That's kind of what customer promotions are like for businesses.

Customer promotions are important because they help attract people to buy a company's products or services. Think of them as special offers or discounts that make customers feel like they're getting a good deal. These promotions can be anything from "Buy One Get One Free" to "20% Off Today Only."

Overall, Customer promotions are important for businesses because they attract customers, boost sales, clear inventory, build loyalty, and give a competitive edge by offering special deals and discounts.


UNIQUE PROMO CODES 🀩

You might be asking what a "unique" promo code is πŸ€” well put simply, they are promo codes unique to a specific Customer and their code is ONLY intended for them.

Unlike the promo codes you see in the table below πŸ‘‡where the code is the same for every Customer targeted in that particular campaign, ie EMAIL100, unique promo codes will always be different per Customer.

As a general rule we do NOT retroactively apply referral or promo codes.

NOTE: If a Customer forgets to add the code during their initial order, they can cancel and place a new order and add the code then.

CARE TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

For when Customers call in to claim that their promo code is NOT working and are requesting assistance from Care:

  1. Customer claims promo code isn't working.
  2. Care confirms with Customer it's not user error and remind them it's case sensitive.
  3. IF Customer still insists it's not working, please escalate to Tier 2 so they can escalate to #care-support-triage Slack channel and tag John Buschini so that he can regenerate a new code, if needed.
  4. Tier 2 will set a follow-up date for the same day as the escalation to ensure quick resolution.

NOTE: For Tier 2/Supervisors, please escalate these cases quickly in the #care-support-triage Slack channel as the Customer will be in the middle of checkout and will be unable to process their order until we resolve their issue.

Customers signing up for the first time may receive 200 free miles when they enter a code. This code is distributed via marketing channels including Email, SMS, Push Notifications.

The customer is targeted with this promotion if they pass the credit check screen, but ultimately do not make a purchase.

New Code: SMCFLXP (Active)

Incentivize high-intent customers to place their first order. Help customers overcome some of the typical friction / hesitation that comes with placing a first order with a brand.

Indefinitely

Customers placing their first order, who get through the credit check screen during checkout but do not complete purchase.
