Pet Friendly
People in the Seattle area love pets! The most recent census numbers available confirm it: There are now more dogs in Seattle than children, by a lot: about 153,000 dogs to 107,000 kids, according to figures from the U.S. Census and the Seattle Animal Shelter.
From our past experience, 56% of applicants have pets! If you are thinking of no pets, you are excluding at least 56% of the potential renters!
That’s why when we are listing your property, unless you are 100% sure or your HOA does not allow pets, GPS Renting has a policy to allow pet with a policy of “pet case by case” in the property advertisement.
With allowing pets, you not only get pet rents, normally $25-$50 a month per pet, but also a higher deposit. So you are covered from damage and profit more! At the same time, we welcome more applicants to apply. It is a win-win situation!
From our experience, the final pet decision always depends on the following factors:
- What is the flooring on your property? Carpet, hardwood, laminate?
- What pets do the applicants have?
- Cats? Dogs? Small caged pets?
- How old? We highly recommend no puppies!
- What breed? We highly recommend no aggressive breed!
- What did the previous landlord say about the pet's behavior?
We will provide all this info to you and discuss it with you to make a decision that benefits your property!
