You can manage class schedules that display in the drop downs when taking attendance.
Create a Single Meeting Time
If you need to create a single meeting time without yet creating a schedule:
- Select the Record Attendance button in either of the following locations:
- Starfish homepage
- Attendance sub-tab within the Students tab
- The Record Attendance window displays.
- Select Add a single meeting time.
- Select the day in the Day calendar picker.
- Add the start/end times in the Time free text fields.
- Select Submit.
Continue with taking attendance as you normally would.
Delete a Single Meeting Time
Select the Record Attendance button in either of the following locations:
- Starfish homepage
- Attendance sub-tab within the Students tab
- The Record Attendance window displays.
- Select Next.
- Select Delete this meeting time
- Confirm your selection when the popup window displays. The meeting time and any previously recorded attendance data for the selected meeting time will be deleted.
Note: If your institution is sending section schedule information from the SIS, removed meeting times may reappear if updated schedules are sent from the SIS.
Create a Recurring Schedule
- From the Attendance tab, select Class Schedule. By default, the Schedule radio button is selected.
- Select +Schedule.
- Enter the appropriate cadence for your recurring class schedule.
- Select Submit. The recurring schedule displays in the Meeting Time drop down when you take attendance.
Edit a Recurring Schedule
- From the Attendance tab, select Class Schedule.
- Locate the meeting time schedule you want to edit and make the appropriate changes.
- Select Submit.
Delete a Recurring Schedule
Note: If you have taken attendance for some of a recurring class schedule, deleting a recurring schedule will also remove your attendance.
- From the Attendance tab, select Class Schedule.
- Select the Delete icon to the right of the schedule section you would like to remove.
Scheduling Tips
If you need to add more than three-quarters of your class’s scheduled meeting times, and the schedule is weekly, we recommend using the Create a Recurring Schedule tool. This process will create additional classes but you will go back and delete those excess class times. This option should be taken when creating a single class time would take longer.:
- Create a recurring schedule
- Delete the excess single meeting times
The other suggested option is when adding a missing meeting time; you would only add it when you are entering attendance for that day.
