Provisioning Poly Edge B devices to Dialpad
Dialpad is proud to support Polycom desk phones, both with and without Obi firmware. The Poly Edge B family delivers a full-featured Dialpad experience on Obi firmware in an affordable offering.
Let's go over how to configure Edge B devices to Dialpad.
Edge B devices use a different Obi firmware than their VVX Obi Edition counterparts. The current supported Edge B Firmware is version 1.0.2
đź’ˇ Note
For these steps to work, your Polycom phone must be on the list of Supported Desk Phones and use the listed firmware version.
Factory Reset (If your Edge B model is new, you can skip this step)
Before provisioning your device to Dialpad, we strongly recommend you Factory Reset (also known as a hard reset) your device to ensure any previous configuration does not interfere with your Dialpad service. Don’t worry, it won’t remove the device’s operating system, it will just set everything back to the original settings.
Factory Resets can be done from the browser, or from the device.
Let’s go over each method.
Factory reset from a browser:
Open a browser to display the Poly Obi-Edition phone’s web interface
- Navigate to System Management
- Navigate to Device Update
- Navigate to Reset Configuration at the bottom of the page
- Select Reset then OK to confirm the operation
Factory reset from a phone:
- Press the Home button on your device
- Use the directional arrows to select Settings
- Press the OK button
- Press Factory Reset softkey (FctRst)
- Enter the Admin Password for the device (admin or qwe!@#123)
